Nero di Troia Rosato Puglia IGP

Sanna Sulis

A wine for female entrepreneurs

I do not wish [women] to have power over men; but over themselves.
Mary Wollstonecraft

Francesca Sanna Sulis was an 18th-century Sardinian fashion designer and entrepreneur. At first, she was a silkworm breeder, but she also became known for her ingenuity in creating fine fabrics. Her products were so beautiful that they crossed the borders of the island and were worn by, among others, the princesses of the House of Savoy and the Empress Catherine of Russia.

In the warehouses of her family home in Quartuccio, Sanna Sulis organized workshops to give many women the opportunity to learn specialized skills and emancipate themselves from the pronounced machismo of the time.

The Nero di Troia Puglia IGP, in its rosé version, is a tribute to this female entrepreneur.

This wine is velvety, fresh, and well-balanced, making it perfect for celebrating the pioneering visions of Francesca Sanna Sulis in the world of fashion and women’s empowerment.

Sanna Sulis is obtained from 100% Nero di Troia grape grown on clayey limestone soil.

It ages in the cellar on fine lees for 2 to 3 months and in bottle for 1 month.

The grape harvest takes place in the third decade of September.

Pale salmon pink in color with intense and delicate bouquet of ripe wild strawberry, red currant and floral hints of violet. On the palate, it is silky with pleasant freshness and delicate savoriness.

Pairings with local dishes: ciambotto, stuffed cuttlefish, chicken rolls, eggplant parmigiana.
